The weather might be cooling down, but the benefits of owning property in Adelaide are red-hot. With winter only a few days away, the city is providing a plethora of activities and opportunities for residents to get involved.
From wine tasting tours and walking explorations of the city's parklands, to AFL games and the German film festival, there is plenty to do. For the social media savvy among you, there's also the chance to get involved and document your wintry experiences on online networking platforms. Using the hashtag #WinterCoatADL, locals can be in to win great prizes and help those in need in the local community – the initiative is supporting Vinnies, with people encouraged to donate winter coats to the long-standing charity.
"When the weather gets cooler the city doesn't hibernate. We're very lucky to live in Adelaide where the winters are relatively mild and there is so much to see and do," said lord mayor Martin Haese in a 22 May statement.
"With the recently completed redevelopments of Rundle Mall, Victoria Square and Adelaide Oval, combined with the Park Lands and the Central Market, people can shop, relax, dine or just enjoy the ambience anywhere in the city."
Splash Adelaide is just one of these fantastic initiatives. Working with groups and individuals during the cooler season, Splash will put a spring in the city's step with a great range of activities, events and displays across the city for communities to enjoy. Lord mayor Haese said Adelaide locals from all walks of life should make the most of the dynamic and exciting projects on offer.
"We want to see people coming into the city and embrace the vibrancy that Splash Adelaide and those involved bring to Adelaide during the cooler months," Mr Haese said in a 27 April statement.
With the city providing such a great selection of activities at all times of the year, the upcoming change of season could be an opportune time to pick up a slice of real estate in Adelaide. Make sure to speak to the team at Ray White for help making your choice.
