Due to hit the streets of Adelaide on February 27, this major event will run until March 2 and is expected to draw in tourists from around the country. What better time to visit the city of Adelaide and see it truly come alive?
South Australia Tourism Minister Leon Bignell said the race lured many people to Adelaide every year, helping to bolster local industries and inject money into the economy.
"At last year's event, there were 15,053 visitors from interstate and 79,394 hotel nights booked, which just shows the magnitude of this event and the impact it has in attracting people to South Australia," Mr Bignell said.
"Total spending associated with the 2013 event was $54.8 million, with an economic benefit to the state of $36.63 million – a 7.7 per cent increase on 2012. That is a phenomenal result."
