Playtime for Burnside

By Brett Pilgrim

The City of Burnside has made several notable upgrades to public amenities, bringing even more appeal to to area for those interesting in purchasing property in Burnside.

Paul Deb, Chief Executive Officer of Burnside City stated that these upgrades 'contribute immeasurably' to the quality of living in the area. This includes upgrades to playgrounds, with Deb noting that "playgrounds play an important role in the development of children through the provision of experiences that may not otherwise be available in their everyday life."

So what's new in the city?

A play space has been opened at the Civic Centre, which compensates for the Toy Library departing Glenunga previously. The Miller Reserve has also been improved to meet community standards – it now includes a barbecue, so you can take the family down for dinner on those warm spring nights!

The Tregenza Oval has been made safer and includes new play equipment for children under five years of age, and Langman Reserve has new chain fencing. This area is a must-see for anyone wanting to experience the beautiful nature walks that the City of Burnside has to offer, with a wonderful lookout and its original Grey Box woods.

Hazelwood Park is the City of Burnside's most popular public park space, and has been fitted out with a modern bathroom facility, open to the public all year round. Mr Deb also noted that the Kensington Gardens Oval received a sporting makeover, with new tennis court surfaces and basketball equipment.
