A proposed master plan for the development of a new employment precinct at Gillman is forecast to create up to 6,000 new jobs for residents in Adelaide.
This is welcome news after the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) revealed Australia’s unemployment rate increased by 0.1 percentage points to reach 5.7 per cent in October this year.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was felt particularly hard in South Australia, as employment dropped 0.6 per cent between September and October.
Residents of property in Prospect will be in a particularly good position to take advantage of the coming employment opportunities in the nearby suburb of Gillman.
The creation is also good news for those who are considering investing in real estate in Adelaide, as infrastructure development brings skilled workers to the region, increasing demand for property in the area.
Housing and Urban Development Minister Tom Koutsantonis identified Gillman as an ideal location for an employment precinct because of its “unparalleled access to road, sea and rail networks”.
“Gillman is well positioned to become a significant employment hub providing an affordable and attractive for businesses, workers and visitors,” he said in a November 22 media statement.
