How far are you willing to go?

By Brett Pilgrim

How far away from your preferred area would you be willing to stray for a more affordable home?

According to a new survey from, 44 per cent of people do not want to move more than 10 kilometres from their preferred location, while 20 per cent of people wouldn't budge by more than 5 kilometres.

Some might describe it as stubborn, but we know people sometimes just have to have what they want. And with the rich diversity of wonderful suburbs surrounding Adelaide, it's no wonder. The Adelaide CBD is a cultural hotspot in Australia and if you look at neighbouring suburbs, you'll find many wonderful places to set up home close by.

Within a 5-kilometre distance of the very centre of Adelaide you can find property in Norwood, North Adelaide and Prospect – hardly a stone's throw from town, and these areas have wonderful park spaces that make you feel as if you're in the quiet of the country. Turn the other way, and you'll likely find your new favourite cafe!

Just beyond that distance but still a mere hop, skip and jump from the CBD you will find real estate in Burnside, where you can buy a home just a few minutes away from both the local primary school and the sublime Hazelwood Park.

We know that sometimes you can set your sights on an area and immediately decide that's where you want to call home. That's why we at Ray White Adelaide put in the hard yards to find the best properties in the best areas to fit your needs. You don't have to give up the city to find the dream home – you just need to work with the experts who will find it for you.
