Find the sailor within at the Adelaide Boat Show

By Brett Pilgrim

Any true-blue, red-blooded Australian thinks of the ocean as his or her second home. Like most Australians, you likely imagine yourself on a vessel of your own, skimming across the surface of the water, the taste of salt on your lips and the sea-bitten breeze blowing through your hair.

That’s why if you happen to be a proud owner of real estate in Adelaide, you won’t want to miss out on the boat show coming to the Adelaide Showground on the 26th to the 29th of this month.

Presented by the Boating Industry Association of South Australia, the four-day event is a veritable smorgasbord of exhibits and activities for lovers of everything nautical.

There’ll be plenty of boats on display, from kayaks and wakeboards to small and large boats. The organisers have made sure not to leave any stone unturned, no matter how small. You’re sure to find something that tickles your fancy, whether you’re looking to purchase a vessel and equipment for yourself or just take in the sights.

Perhaps you fancy yourself a bit of a fisherman. You’ll be in luck, because the show features a clearance sale on TackleBusters rods and tackle. You can also enjoy a fishing stage with Greg James himself.

There’s educational opportunities, too – there’ll be plenty of seminars and workshops, and you can even sit for your boat licence while there.

The show will open every day at 10 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. on Thursday and Sunday, and 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $15 for adults, and free for any children under 15 years of age – so you don’t have to break the bank to enjoy everything the show has to offer.

And as if to sweeten the deal even further, anyone showing up before midday on Thursday and Friday can buy a two-for-one entry.

The Adelaide Boat Show is yet another reason why property in Adelaide is so highly prized – as if you need to be reminded!
