Enjoy the music of Adelaide

By Brett Pilgrim

Have you recently purchased a property in Adelaide? If so, hearing your offer was accepted after stressful negotiations was likely music to your ears. The heavens opened and the angels sang – or did they? It was probably just the Elder Conservatorium Wind Orchestra you heard. But this orchestra is nothing to sneeze at – in fact, if you've only moved to the area, checking out the concert hall makes a perfect date night or opportunity to teach the kids a bit about culture.

If you're looking for a special night out this month, look no further than the 23 August performance of Paul Hendemith's Symphony in B-flat. The Elder Conservatorium Wind Orchestra's performance, conducted by Robert Hower, will certainly take your breath away. Get there before 6:30pm for a truly impressive performance you won't soon forget.

For those who are unable to make it but are eager for a cultural expedition in Adelaide, why not check out a choir performance on 13 September? Or take the children to an opera performance of Hansel and Gretel in October – you'll get to indulge in the sensory delights of the music while the kids can be entertained by a familiar fairy tale. Jazz lovers can woo their significant others by taking them to jazz master James Morrison's sensual performance on 18 October – truly a perfect date night for the romantically inclined. Given the range of events at Elder Hall, there's certainly something for everyone.

Buying a home in Adelaide means you couldn't have chosen a better location – with a fantastic local community and lots to do, you'll never be lost for activities to take part in. Nights filled with the sound of music are just one of the benefits owning property in this area provides local families.
